Earlier this year, Square Enix announced that Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent (), the mobile exclusive prequel to the superb JRPG Octopath Traveler, will be coming to North America and Europe this year. Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent is set in the same universe as the main console and PC game with characters from it showing up. This mobile game features more playable characters in combat using the same gorgeous aesthetic as the main game which Square Enix is using for more classic game remakes in the future. Today, Square Enix has revealed that Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent will begin service in the West and other parts of the world from July 27th (UTC) according to the App Store description. Alongside this, pre-orders and pre-registrations are now live. Watch the Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent pre-registration trailer below:
Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent is a single player RPG that happens to be free to play. The in app purchases listed on the App Store include different Ruby Sets and Special Item Sets. If you’d like to try it out at launch on July 27th (it should be downloadable on July 26th), you can get pre-order it on the App Store for iOS here and pre-register for it on Google Play for Android here. An official Facebook page for the game’s Western release is here. I’m interested to see how this one does when it arrives late next month mostly just to see how the gorgeous aesthetic scales on a good high resolution display. Did you play Octopath Traveler on PC or Nintendo Switch and are you looking forward to Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent?
